Zygen Pf (HRP II)®
Zygen Pf (HRP II)® is a rapid diagnostic test designed for the detection of Plasmodium falciparum Histidine-rich Protein (HRP II) in whole blood, plasma, or serum. It provides a fast and accurate means of diagnosing P. falciparum malaria, the deadliest of the four Plasmodium species responsible for malaria. In regions of Eastern and Central Africa, where P. falciparum accounts for over 99% of malaria infections, this test is crucial in managing the disease, which significantly impacts public health. Malaria remains a leading cause of morbidity and mortality, with particularly high fatality rates among children and pregnant women, and accounts for up to 40% of public health expenditure in these regions.
Zygen Hep B®
Zygen Hep B® is a rapid, highly specific, and sensitive test for the detection of Hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) in human serum, plasma, or whole blood. This visually-read qualitative immunoassay is essential for diagnosing Hepatitis B Virus (HBV) infections, as HBsAg is a key biomarker found in the blood of infected individuals. The test is widely used to screen blood and blood products to prevent transmission of HBV, and is also a vital tool for diagnosing suspected infections and monitoring the status of infected individuals, whether the infection has resolved or the patient has become a chronic carrier of the virus.
Zygen Pregna®
Zygen Pregna® is a rapid urine and serum test designed to detect the presence of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG), a hormone produced by the placenta during early pregnancy. The test is highly sensitive, detecting hCG levels as low as 20 mIU/ml, and offers twice the sensitivity when serum is used compared to urine. hCG appears shortly after fertilization and remains in the body during the early stages of pregnancy, making it an essential marker for early pregnancy detection. The assay uses a combination of monoclonal antibodies to selectively identify elevated hCG levels, ensuring minimal interference from structurally similar hormones such as FSH, LH, and TSH. While the test is highly accurate, other conditions like trophoblastic disease, proteinuria, haematuria, and certain tumors can cause false positives. As with all diagnostic tests, results should be interpreted in conjunction with clinical findings. 
Zygen Syph®
Zygen Syph® is a rapid, highly specific, and sensitive test for detecting syphilis infections caused by Treponema pallidum, the spirochete bacterium responsible for syphilis. This in vitro, visually-read, qualitative immunoassay detects antibodies to Treponema pallidum-specific antigens in human serum, plasma, or whole blood, aiding in the diagnosis of syphilis. Syphilis is a sexually transmitted infection that can also be passed from mother to fetus during pregnancy. The disease progresses through three stages and, if untreated, can become latent, with no apparent symptoms. Early symptoms include fever, chills, aches, swollen glands, and sometimes a skin rash. Zygen Syph® offers a reliable, non-invasive way to detect syphilis, helping to prevent further transmission and enabling early treatment, as syphilis is curable with antibiotics. 
Zygen Pf/PV Combo Test®
Zygen Pf/PV Combo Test® is a rapid diagnostic test designed to detect both Plasmodium falciparum and Plasmodium vivax in whole blood, providing a comprehensive solution for diagnosing the two most significant malaria species. P. falciparum is the most deadly malaria parasite, accounting for over 99% of malaria infections in certain regions, while P. vivax is the second most prevalent species, which is expected to increase as efforts to control P. falciparum progress. This test enables accurate and efficient diagnosis of both species, helping to guide appropriate treatment and control malaria morbidity and mortality.
